THE TOWER COLLECTION BLACKPOOL
Our Story
A bit about me...
I trained as a Mechanical Engineer at Imperial Chemical Industries in the '70s, left there to work in the family catering business for a little over 30 years, after which we sold the business to pursue other interests.
I have been Railway modelling since I was 30 years old . it all started with a trip to the isle of man with my family ,and visiting the model shop there ,I thought I would buy my 5 year old son track for his Thomas tank toys , wow, ended up buying a “n” gauge starter set and track and, and, and…before long we were exhibiting layouts having met the Bradford lads (at this point I should point out I live in Blackpool ) i have been a member there ever since ,it would be about 1999 that I persuaded the club to have a swaaye into “O” GAUGE and Oxenhope was born .nowadays we have six “O” gauge exhibition layouts ranging from 15ft to 40 ft. .
During this time I offered my help to Dave Brewer from Tower Models and have been a part of his exhibition team from 2000 and part of the Tower workshop team since retiring from my own business, into the fire I hear you say.
During the last three years I have been fitting the DCC for Tower but have taken over that roll completely ,I also talked Dave into parting with the “tower collection” and have now relaunched it under the “The Tower Collection Blackpool “ Banner .
But enough about me let the pictures do the talking, please feel free to browse the web site,
There is plenty of information, if you can’t find what you are looking for don’t hesitate to contact me (reasonable hours please)
I think we can offer almost everything within the range as kit form or fully finished to your requirements even hand lined (by Warren Haywood).
We can fit DCC into the loco’s but only for fully finished ones as we have to modify the loco during construction
From time to time you may see an imposter in the new loco ready to run section
There will also be second hand ,that will be well worth a look
